The Omega Seamaster 300, introduced in 1957, was one of the earliest true professional dive watches and became a landmark in horological history. Designed as a serious tool watch, it combined 300-meter water resistance, strong legibility, and robust construction with a clean, timeless aesthetic. Key features included a stainless-steel case, luminous rotating bezel, highly readable black dial, Naiad crown system, and reliable automatic calibres such as the 501, 550, and 552.

Over the 1960s, the model evolved through different references and dial variations, while also gaining credibility through military and professional diving use, notably with the British Royal Navy. Today, the original Seamaster 300 is highly prized for its historical importance, design purity, rarity in original condition, and military provenance. Its legacy continues through modern reissues, which preserve the spirit of the original while updating it for contemporary collectors.
